PPP and PML-N coordination committee meets at Governor House Lahore

PPP and PML-N Coordination Committees held consultative meeting at Governor House Lahore. PPP was represented by Raja Pervez Ashraf, Governor Sardar Saleem Haider, Nadeem Afzal Chan, Ali Haider Gilani and Syed Hassan Murtaza. 

PML-N delegation was led by Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar. Advisor to PM Rana Sanaullah, Kh Saad Rafique, Law Minister Azam Nazir Tarar, Senior Provincial Minister Punjab Marriyum Aurangzeb and Speaker Punjab Assembly Malik Muhammad Ahmed Khan were present in the meeting. Chief Secretary Punjab Zahid Akhtar Zaman and IG Police Punjab Dr. Usman Anwar were also present in the meeting. 

During the meeting, both parties agree to work together and implement projects of public interest immediately. The leaders agreed to hold meetings in the first week of every month. The next meeting of the liaison committees will be held on April 12. 

The meeting also reviewed the welfare and development projects and projects of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif in the province.

According to inside information, PML-N demanded a share in Sindh from PPP in exchange for power sharing in Punjab. PPP reiterated its demand for development funds equal to those of its members in Punjab. PPP said promise of appointment of chairmanships and officers of various departments in our majority districts was also not fulfilled. 

PPP demanded its ticket holders who get more than 20,000 votes should also be given development funds. PPP also expressed reservations over the new Local Act Bill in Punjab. PP also criticizes PML-N for not providing them funds equally. 

PML-N leaders advised PP to join Punjab cabinet so that all of their deprivations are removed. PML-N also demanded due share in Sindh under power sharing formula. 

Both sides agreed to form sub-committee which will comprise Punjab Assembly Speaker Malik Ahmed Khan and Marriyum Aurangzeb, Syed Ali Haider Gilani and Syed Hassan Murtaza from the PPP. The sub-committee will review power sharing issues every week.
