Major robbery in Lahore as dacoits loot gold and diamonds worth of Rs190m
Dacoits loot 200 tolas of gold, 20 tolas of diamond during Sehri-time in DHA Phase-A: Robbers arrived in a white car and held family and guards hostage: Police reviewing CCTV footage to identify suspects
Four armed robbers entered a house in the Defence A area of Lahore and looted a large quantity of valuables after taking family members hostage, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday.
The incident occurred around 4:30am during Sehri time in the Defence A locality of the Defence Housing Authority (DHA) Lahore.
According to reports, the house owner, identified as Aamir, had stepped out with family members for Sehri when the suspects reached the residence.
CCTV footage showed that four robbers arrived at the house in a white car. All four suspects were dressed in white clothes.
The suspects allegedly overpowered the security guard and family members before entering the TV lounge and looting valuables from the house.
During the robbery, the dacoits stole 200 tolas of gold, 20 tolas of diamonds, seven expensive watches and foreign currency.
Police officials said that other security guards were also present at the residence but were asleep in their room at the time of the incident.
An FIR has been registered on the complaint of house owner Aamir Saeed, and investigators are reviewing CCTV footage to trace and identify the suspects.
Police said the footage was being examined as part of the investigation to track down the robbers involved in the incident.
