LPG dealers warn of disruption in supply due to OGRA actions

Liquefied Petroleum Gas Marketers Association has written a letter to the Federal Minister for Petroleum expressing their serious concerns over the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) actions, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.

In the letter, the LPG Marketers Association said that prices of LPG must be reviewed as per the current situation.

They warned the government that, due to the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority's actions, there is a strong chance of disruption in the supply of LPG in the country.

The LPG Marketers stated that local production of LPG is only 30 percent, and 70 percent of LPG consumed in the country is imported.

They said that the current official price is lower than the import cost. Importers reduce further LPG orders due to lower prices.

The LPG Association said that in the current situation, they cannot buy LPG from Sui Southern Gas Company Limited.

They said that the government should direct OGRA to halt its actions, otherwise LPG plants and outlets may face closure.

They warned the government to intervene in this matter, otherwise, LPG supply will be disrupted in the country.
