Brigadier general was leading defensive operations at time of attack: Iranian military confirms death and vows continued resistance
A senior Iranian military commander has been killed in an Israeli attack, according to confirmation from the Iranian armed forces, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday.
According to the report, Iran’s military said Brigadier General Abdullah Jalali was martyred while defending the country during an Israeli strike.
According to military officials, the officer was leading defensive operations at the time of the attack.
The Iranian army confirmed the death and described Jalali’s killing as a sacrifice made in the defence of the nation.
Officials said that despite the loss of senior commanders, Iran’s armed forces would continue their resistance against the enemy.
The incident comes amid escalating tensions between Iran and Israel following a series of military strikes between the two sides.
