Sukkur Deputy Commissioner contracts coronavirus

Amid the alarming rise in coronavirus cases across the country and especially in Sindh, Sukkur Deputy Commissioner Rana Adeel too contracted the virus, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Friday.
According to Sukkur Commissioner Shafiq Mahesar, Rana was tested positive during routine testing though he did not show any symptoms.
He added that the deputy commissioner would be tested again on Saturday, while the samples of his family members and other district officials were also being taken.
Rana was quarantined at his residence, Mahesar said, adding that he had been performing his duties at the quarantine centre from day one.
Sindh is witnessing an exponential rise in the coronavirus cases after the lockdown was relaxed. That’s why Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has been urging the people to stay at home.
And this spread of the s isn’t limited to the big cities, as the number of coronavirus cases in Pir Jo Goth tehsil of Khairpur district climbed to 285 after another 251 people were tested positive for the virus last week.
The number of coronavirus cases in Sindh currently stands at 14,099 while the virus has also claimed 243 lives.
