The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) Monday decided that it would not use the Electronic Voting Machine (EVM) in the NA-133 Lahore by-elections.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the ECP authorities had shown their satisfaction over getting the accurate election result through the EVMs.

Earlier, the ECP decided to get a special briefing from the Ministry of Science and Technology to conduct NA-133 Lahore by-polls by using the EVM. 

For this purpose, the ECP has written a letter to the Ministry for getting a detailed briefing about the usage of the EVM under its first prototype already introduced by the government.

Today, the ministry official gave a briefing about the EVM’s performance to the ECP authorities but couldn’t satisfy them.
