New JIT formed on Wazirabad firing incident

The Home Department of Punjab on Tuesday formed a new Joint Investigation Team (JIT) for the Wazirabad firing incident related to Imran Khan’s injury and long march.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, the JIT has been established under the leadership of Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar.
The channel report said that on the instructions of Additional Chief Secretary Interior Captain (Retd) Asad Ullah Khan, Section Officer (Judicial-III) Ahmed Bilal issued the notification of the JIT comprising six members.
The notification said that CCPO Lahore Ghulam Mehmood Dogar will be Convener of the JIT while RPO Dera Ghazi Khan Syed Khurram Ali, AIG/Monitoring of the Investigation Branch Punjab Ehsan Ullah Chohan, SP Potohar Division Rawalpindi Malik Tariq Mehboob, and SP/RO of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Lahore Naseeb Ullah Khan will be members of the new investigating team.
The Convener of the JIT shall depute one of its members for the purpose of submission of the report under Section 173 of the Criminal Procedure Code, 1989, as required under Section 19(1) of the Anti-Terrorism Act, 1997.
