Popular television actress Ushna Shah has praised colleague Yasir Hussain for gathering the media fraternity at the Press Club for a protest over the motorway rape incident. 

Taking to Instagram, Ushna Shah wrote: “I know you love to troll him relentlessly but the fact is that he is the one who put together the protest at Press Club and gathered the media fraternity.”

She further added, “Sorry I couldn’t make it bro, but thank you for always standing up for women’s rights. No better display of masculinity.”

A large number of citizens took to the streets in different cities of the country to demand justice and structural reforms after the shocking gang-rape on the Lahore-Sialkot motorway a few days ago.

The organisers of the Aurat March protests in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Peshawar and Karachi set forth five demands including an end to violence, affirmative steps by the government to uphold rights and ensure justice, accountability of Lahore Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Umer Sheikh and any other official who blames the victim, structural and procedural reforms and effective and transparent investigations by the criminal justice system.
