Punjab govt proposes dividing Lahore into two parts during PM visit to Lahore

Punjab government Wednesday presented a new formula of dividing Lahore into two parts administratively to resolve its problems to Prime Minister Imran Khan.
According to the 24News HD TV channel, Prime Minister Imran Khan Wednesday arrived in Lahore on a one-day official visit and chaired different meetings.
During a meeting, the Punjab government suggested division of Lahore in two parts—Lahore city and Lahore Saddar, and first would comprise of the areas of Model Town, Raiwind, Thokar Niaz Baig and Kahna, and the second one on areas of Ferozwala, Shalimar and Harbanspura.
Punjab government also presented the Sohna Lahore Project to the PM that was approved by him. The cost of the project was estimated at Rs7 billion and under the program, Canal Road and underpasses would be renovated. While the conditions of public places would be improved with the rehabilitation of roads.
On the other hand, Punjab Chief Secretary presented the performance report of the bureaucrats to the PM and also informed him about the concerns of ‘Babus’ regarding NAB investigations against them.
Punjab IG Police Rao Sardar also called on the PM and presented him a seven-point agenda to constitute a writ of the government in the province.
The IG police suggested protection of women, children and minorities on priority while ensuring the police response and investigation on merit were also included on priorities in his agenda points.
