342 new coronavirus cases, 1,645 patients fully recovered so far

Although the total number of confirmed coronavirus jumped to 6,505, the tally of patients, who have fully recovered, reached 1,645 on Thursday, the figures released by the National Command and Control Centre show.

During the last 24 hours, another 17 people lost their lives because of the virus after which the death toll jumped to 124. Similarly, 342 new cases were reported during the same period.

Meanwhile, the province-wise distribution of the confirmed coronavirus cases shows Punjab with 3,217 patients followed by Sindh 1,668, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 912, Balochistan 280, Gilgit-Baltistan 237, Islamabad 146 and Azad Kashmir 46.

On the other hand, six more deaths each were recorded in Sindh and Punjab after the death toll in the two provinces reached 41 and 34 respectively.

Similarly, four deaths were reported in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and one in Balochistan after which the total for these two provinces now stands at 42 and three respectively.

143 recovered at Mayo Hospital in Lahore

As many as 143 patients, who were admitted to the Mayo Hospital Lahore, have recovered from the coronavirus. Now, there are 130 patients at the hospital getting treatment for the infection.

Lahore had witnessed an increase in the number of patients with the coronavirus as there are as many as 522 confirmed cases in the city. In addition, 12 people have died from the infection so far.

However, the recoveries at the Mayo Hospital suggest an optimistic scenario in the fight against the pandemic. Yesterday too, the hospital authorities discharged ten patients of the coronavirus after declaring them having recovered from the infection.
