Pakistan reports 110 more deaths; 5,364 new coronavirus cases
Another 110 people succumbed to coronavirus in the past 24 hours (Thursday) as the death toll due to coronavirus has reached 15,982 that represents a ratio of 2.1%, the latest data from the National Command and Control (NCOC) shows.
The positivity ratio of coronavirus cases in Pakistan was 8.31 percent as Pakistan reported 5,364 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 64,481 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 745,182 that returned positive after conducting 11,007,252 total tests so far.
The number of active cases in the country is 78,425 with 4,302 patients in critical condition.
There were 4,123 more recoveries recorded in the last 24 hours as the number of total recovered cases reached 650,775 with an 87.3% recovery rate.
Punjab, the most populous province of the country, has reported 2,632 new cases in the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 261,173 with 42,037 active cases. In Punjab, 62 more patients died of coronavirus as the death toll reached 7,271. With 2105 new recoveries, 211,865 patients have recovered from the virus in Punjab so far.
Sindh has recorded 653 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the provincial tally to 270,963with 7,034 active cases. With eight new deaths reported related to the deadly disease, the death toll in Sindh reached 4,541. With 389 new recoveries, 259,388 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has recorded 1,129 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 103,419 with 13,303 active cases. The province reported 35 new virus-related deaths as the death toll reached 2,796. With 789 new recoveries, 87,320 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Balochistan has recorded another 82 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 20,662 with 898 active cases. The province reported one new death as the death toll reached 222. With 69 new recoveries, 19,542 patients have recovered from the virus in the province so far.
Islamabad has recorded 599 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 68,665 with 12,817 active cases. With one new death reported in the Federal Capital as the virus death toll reached 583. With 620 new recoveries, the number of recovered patients is 55,222 in the federal capital so far.
Azad Jammu and Kashmir
Azad Jammu and Kashmir has recorded 159 new cases during the last 24 hours taking the tally to 15,137 with 2,227 active cases. With 3 new deaths reported, the death toll reached 423. There were 136 new recoveries in the AJK as 12,487 patients have recovered so far from the virus.
Gilgit-Baltistan recorded 10 new cases during the last 24 hours, as the tally reached at 5,163 with 109 active cases. No new death reported in the province, the death toll remains at 103. There were 15 new recoveries reported as well as number of patients recovered from the deadly disease reaches 4,951.
