CDA demolishes over 200 houses in anti-encroachment operation in Islamabad

In a grand operation against encroachments in Noorpur Shahan area of Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA) on Thursday retrieved state land worth billions of rupees by demolishing over 200 illegally built houses contiguous to Barri Imam, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
According to the CDA officials, locals had encroached upon the state land in Noorpur Shahan spreading over 1,700 acres.
They added that locals had even attacked CDA teams when they went to the area to remove encroachments.
They set two CDA trucks on fire, leading to the registration of a case against 350 persons under sections of the Anti-Terrorism Act, the officials elaborated.
