Gold price surges by Rs1,400 in Pakistan

The prices of gold increased in the local market on Thursday, with 24-karat gold per tola rising by Rs1,400 to settle at Rs504,862 compared to Rs503,462 on the previous trading day, according to rates issued by the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association.

Similarly, the price of 10 grams of 24-karat gold increased by Rs1,200 to Rs432,837 from Rs431,637, whereas 10 grams of 22-karat gold went up by Rs1,100 to Rs396,781 against Rs395,681.

In the international market, the price of gold increased by $14 to $4,825 per ounce from $4,811.

Meanwhile, the price of silver per tola increased by Rs110 to Rs8,514 from Rs8,404, while the price of 10 grams of silver also increased by Rs94 to Rs7,299 from Rs7,205.

The price of silver in the international market increased by $1.10 to $80.30 per ounce from $79.20.
