LHC issues contempt notice to Lesco chief over Rs60m electricity bill to citizen
Lahore High Court has issued notice to Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Lahore Electric Supply Company (LESCO) on contempt of court petition for citizen’s non-rectification of electricity bill about Rs60 million, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
The court sought response from LESCO Chief Muhammad Ramzan Butt on next hearing.
Justice Shahid Karim heard citizen Liaquat Ali's petition.
The petitioner pleaded that LESCO has sent Rs57.933 million electricity bill.
The petitioner took position that he applied to LESCO officers for rectification of electricity bill but all in vain and he has to move court.
The court ordered LESCO Chief to take a decision on rectification of electricity bill after hearing petitioner but the court's order dated December 8, 2025 was not implemented, petitioner pleaded.
The petitioner requested the court that contempt of court action should be taken against LESCO Chief Muhammad Ramzan Butt for violating court order.
