Govt warns job seekers against overseas employment and work visa scams
The government has issued an urgent advisory for Pakistanis seeking employment abroad, warning them to remain vigilant against fraudsters offering fake jobs and counterfeit work visas in exchange for large sums of money, 24NewsHD TV reported.
In a public awareness message, the Bureau of Emigration and Overseas Employment (BEOE) said many people are being deceived by individuals and agencies making false promises of overseas jobs and work visas.
It urged citizens not to pay money based solely on verbal assurances from agents.
The bureau clarified that travel agencies are legally authorised only to arrange airline tickets and hotel bookings and are not permitted to provide overseas employment or issue work visas.

The officials advised job seekers to verify all overseas employment opportunities through the BEOE Foreign Jobs Portal and to deal only with government-licensed overseas recruitment agencies.
The bureau said following the official recruitment process is the best way to avoid fraud and illegal hiring practices.
It also urged the public to immediately report any individual or agency illegally collecting money in the name of overseas jobs to the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) so that legal action can be taken.
