Gandapur rejects Afghans repatriation policy, says KP govt won’t expel them

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur has rejected Centre’s policy of sending back Afghan refugees by terming it an inhuman and vile policy, reported 24NewsHD TV channel. 

Talking to media in Peshawar on Sunday, KP Chief Minister made it clear that PTI provincial government will not expel Afghans from the province. 

KP CM said he will discuss the issue with the federation to formulate a plan of action. Gandapur was of the view that he has never deemed the policies of the federation regarding the citizens of Afghanistan to be correct. He said KP government delegation cannot go to Afghanistan until the TORs are finalized. He said, “Afghans are our brothers and neighbors”. 

Gandapur claimed he has repeatedly told Army Chief in various meetings that what you are doing in the province is wrong. He said when there is a meeting regarding security, there are more people from the federation and he remained alone. He said KP province has taken a loan and will repay it. He said, “We will make ourselves credible so that people invest here”. 

He said KP government was giving training to police to fight war on terrorism. Gandapur said no evidence has been found in Akora Khattak incident, but Mufti Munir Shakir incident has been traced. He said external forces were involved in it who have penetrated here for a long time. KP CM said he cannot increase the salaries of the police until he gets money from the federal government. 

Gandapur said menace of terrorism had ended in PTI government of Imran Khan. After his ouster, all the institutions indulged in eliminating PTI resultantly law and order deteriorated and now hits its climax. He claimed the situation in Balochistan is alarming. He said their region has defeated superpowers but now situation is murky due to the incompetence of the federal government.
