Pakistani actress Sanam Saeed is turning heads at the Cannes Film Festival after unveiling her elegant second look from the international event, blending timeless fashion with a heartfelt tribute to legendary Pakistani cinema icon Shamim Ara.

Serving effortless elegance under the French sun, Sanam appeared in a sophisticated ivory ensemble featuring a modern halter-neck long tunic paired with matching high-waisted flared trousers, creating a graceful yet contemporary look.

She completed the look with the neckline, a matching mini drawstring pouch bag and a bold white wrist bangle.

However, beyond the fashion, it was Sanam Saeed’s tribute to Shamim Ara that truly captured fans’ attention online.

Taking to Instagram, the actress shared a heartfelt video dedicated to the legendary star and wrote, “In honour of an icon that paved the way for so many of us. On my trip to Cannes, I carry her legacy and your prayers. Wish me luck.”

In the emotional video message, Sanam reflected on the powerful legacy of Begum Shamim Ara and her groundbreaking contribution to Pakistani cinema. She described her as not only a celebrated actress, but also a producer and director who broke barriers in a male-dominated industry.

Sanam shared that Shamim Ara’s journey was not one of temporary fame, but one built on strength, reinvention, and lasting legacy.

She recalled how the legendary actress ruled Pakistani cinema during the 1960s with iconic films like Saheli and Naila before later proving her talent behind the camera through successful projects like Saiqa and Munda Bigra Jaye.

The actress further said that Shamim Ara quietly opened doors for women in filmmaking at a time when very few women held creative control in the industry.

Speaking about her Cannes debut, Sanam said she would walk the festival thinking about Shamim Ara’s courage and fearless contribution to cinema.
