Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins on Thursday held talks with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi in Islamabad, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

During the meeting, Pak-Australia relations and promotion of mutual cooperation in various fields were discussed.

Increasing cooperation in coast guards, border management and prevention of human trafficking were also discussed.

Australian High Commissioner expressed regret over the martyrdom of police officers and officers and soldiers of forces in recent unfortunate incidents.

Australian High Commissioner praised the beautiful restoration work of Gaddafi Stadium.

Australian High Commissioner said under your leadership, Islamabad's welfare and development projects are commendable and there has been a clear improvement in the city. 

He said a memorable time spent in Pakistan and Darbar Bibi Pak Daman in Lahore was his favourite place. Pakistan's international status and prestige increased in the present era, Neil Hawkins said.

Talking on the occasion, Mohsin Naqvi said he believes in discouraging illegal immigration and promoting legal immigration. 

Mohsin Naqvi said such individuals will face strict legal action upon their return to the country. 

Elements involved in illegal human trafficking are being dealt with an iron hand, Mohsin Naqvi said.

Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi appreciated the efforts of Australian High Commissioner Neil Hawkins in promoting bilateral relations.

Mohsin Naqvi expressed his best wishes for Neil Hawkins' future.

Federal Secretary Interior Khurram Agha and senior officials of the Australian High Commission were also present on the occasion.
