Punjab Assembly Speaker Parvez Elahi approached the Qila Gujjar Singh police to register a case over the fight in the provincial assembly session for the election of Leader of the House, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Sunday. 

The station house officer (SHO) of Qila Gujar Singh asked Chaudhry Parvez Elahi to present a medical exam report with the request for registering a case. He alleged that PML-N lawmakers subjected him to torture. Speaker Parvez Elahi sustained ‘serious injuries and ‘broke his arm’ 

At the request of Parvez Elahi, the Qila Gujar Singh police head sought a medical report, saying that due process will be followed after getting the medico-legal report.

Reportedly, Deputy Speaker Dost Muhammad Mazari withdrew his earlier order regarding the convening of the provincial assembly session on Monday to hold voting on the no-confidence motion against the speaker.

He was too thrashed, punched, and roughed up in yesterday’s session by ‘PTI party members’ on conducting elections for the new chief minister.
