NAB KP accepts plea bargain offer in Kohistan corruption case

The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has approved a plea bargain request filed by an accused in the Kohistan corruption scandal, 24NewsHD TV reported on Friday. 

The suspect, identified as Ayub, had submitted the request under Section 25(B) of the NAB Ordinance, 1999, seeking settlement of the case through voluntary return of assets.

According to NAB sources, the accused, a contractor by profession, has offered to surrender a commercial property measuring 4 kanals and 12 marlas located in Rawalpindi. The property is estimated to be worth approximately Rs160 million.

The plea bargain will now be forwarded for final approval by the NAB chairman, after which it will be presented before an accountability court for formal confirmation.

Ayub was arrested in connection with alleged corruption in Kohistan, part of a wider probe into financial irregularities in development projects in the region.
