Former finance minister Ishaq Dar took to the social media on Sunday to criticise the government.
He said the government of Prime Minister Imran Khan was lying to people about the savings. He said the PML-N government saved taxpayers’ Rs240 billion in a case during its last tenure. He said the PML-N fought a legal fight in the GIDC case, but the verdict in this came during this government’s tenure. He said the PML-N fought for recovery of Rs400 billion in the GIDC case in 2015. He said the PML-N government went to the Supreme Court after high court’s ruling in this case. He said the PTI government tried to write off Rs200 billions of favourites. He said that saving money in the IPPs case is just a claim and PML-N would acknowledge the government’s efforts once there is a solid progress in this case. He said the agreement with the IPPs has not been made public yet.
