Imran Khan, Boris Johnson discuss Taliban takeover in Afghanistan

Prime Minister Imran Khan and his British counterpart Boris Johnson had a telephonic conversation on the Afghanistan situation on Tuesday.
According to 24NewsHD TV channel, Prime Minister Khan highlighted the importance of a peaceful and stable Afghanistan for Pakistan.
He said that ensuring safety, security and respect for the rights of all Afghans was critically important.
He stressed the need for an inclusive political settlement in Afghanistan for permanent peace in the country and regional prosperity.
He highlighted the Pak role in facilitating the evacuation of diplomatic personnel and staff of international organizations and others from Afghanistan.
The two prime ministers agreed to remain in contact with respect to the evolving situation in Afghanistan.
In the bilateral context, Prime Minister Imran Khan highlighted the extensive measures taken by Pakistan to contain the Covid-19.
