CM Maryam reduces public transport fares by 5%

Public transport fares have been reduced by 5 percent in Lahore in view of the reduction in petroleum product prices, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Sunday. 
According to the report, on the special instructions of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, public and goods transport fares in Lahore have been reduced.
Deputy Commissioners were directed to ensure the implementation of the reduction in fares.
It is directed that the benefit of the reduction in petroleum product prices should be directly conveyed to the public.
The new fare list should be displayed at the city's general bus stand and all bus stops and public transport in a prominent place.
According to the report, action is underway against various transport companies for not displaying the new fare list.
Special squads have also been formed to implement the new fares.
About 10 vehicles were impounded in police stations in Lahore, challans were issued to seven vehicles, and a fine of Rs80,000 was imposed.
