Journalist Khawar Hussain found dead in Sanghar, Sindh govt forms inquiry committee

Khawar Hussain, a Karachi-based journalist and reporter for Dawn News channel, was found shot dead on Sunday in Sanghar, 24NewsHD TV reported on Sunday.

According to initial reports, the Sindh government has formed a three-member fact-finding committee to investigate the circumstances.

The committee is headed by Additional Inspector General of Counter Terrorism Department (CTD) Aizad Khan, with DIG West Irfan Baloch and SSP Sanghar Abid Baloch serving as members. The committee is advised to submit its fact-finding report within two days, ensuring a thorough probe into the matter.

 The body of the salin journalist was discovered late at night inside his vehicle parked outside a restaurant in Sanghar, sparking shock and grief across the media fraternity.

Hussain, who had traveled from Karachi to his native town, Sanghar, was found with gunshot wounds in his car.

Police officials shifted the body to the Edhi cold storage in Hyderabad after completing legal formalities.

The funeral arrangements, including Hussain’s burial and prayer schedule, will be announced once his family members return from abroad.
