Pak Army engineers race to restore flood-damaged Jarr Bridge linking Bajaur and Dir

The Pakistan Army Corps of Engineers has launched round-the-clock operations to rebuild the crucial Jarr Bridge connecting Dir and Bajaur districts after it was washed away during recent floods, 24NewsHD TV reported Tuesday.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), army engineers have begun installing a new bridge at the site of the damaged structure, with teams from the Corps of Engineers working around the clock to complete the task.

The bridge, considered a vital communication and trade link between Bajaur and Dir, was destroyed by heavy floodwaters, disrupting transport and severing connectivity between the two districts.

 Its collapse left residents facing severe difficulties in commuting, transporting goods, and accessing essential services.

Officials said that the installation of the replacement bridge is progressing swiftly and is expected to be completed within the next few days.

Once operational, the new structure will immediately restore connectivity and ease the hardships of the local population.

The Pakistan Army’s intervention has been widely welcomed by local communities, who had been cut off from neighboring districts since the flooding.
