Lahore police arrest 401 drug dealers in August
Police have arrested 401 drug dealers during a month-long crackdown in Lahore, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
According to a spokesman of the Lahore police, 4,747 drug peddlers were arrested during the current year, and cases were filed against them.
Police recovered 1,723 kilograms of hashish, 502 kilos of ice, and 103 kilos of heroin from their possession.
The spokesman further revealed that 354 kilograms of cannabis. 45 kilograms of opium and 20,000 liters of liquor were recovered from the accused.
Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Lahore Bilal Siddique Kimyana said that Lahore police will use all available resources to make Lahore a drug-free city.
He further directed that the crackdown against the drug peddlers who provide narcotics should continue specially those who are supplying drugs around educational institutions.
He said that the jurisdiction of intelligence-based operations (IBOs) will be expanded soon.
