Punjab Police arrested over 109,000 criminals this year

Punjab Police have intensified their crackdown against proclaimed offenders, habitual criminals and court absconders across the province, arresting more than 109,000 wanted criminals so far this year, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.

According to the Punjab Police, they have arrested more than 33,000 court absconders across Punjab. These include 5,031 category-A and 28,306 category-B offenders.

In addition, 11,990 habitual criminals have been arrested during the ongoing operations. Of these, 4,213 were placed in category-A and 7,777 in category-B, the spokesperson said.

In Lahore alone, police have arrested 25,118 proclaimed offenders, 10,696 court absconders and 4,898 habitual criminals this year.

Punjab Inspector General of Police Abdul Karim praised the police teams involved in the arrests and appreciated their efforts against serious and repeat offenders.

The IG directed police teams to continue operations against proclaimed offenders, court absconders and habitual criminals and ensure that such suspects are brought to justice.

According to the Punjab Police, the crackdown will continue across the province as part of efforts to improve public safety and strengthen law enforcement.
