More than 1,000 invitees joined Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s son Junaid Safdar’s colourful Walima in Jati Umra, Lahore on Friday night.

According to the 24News HD TV channel, the residence of the Sharif family at Jati Umra has been fully decorated with colourful lights on all buildings, walls and trees even.

In the Walima ceremony of her son, Maryam Nawaz and her uncle Shehbaz Sharif wore dresses of blue colour while Hamza Shehbaz was dressed up in a pant and a coat in black.

Despite a spell of heavy fog and cold weather in Lahore, guests in their graceful dresses reached Jati Umra for giving their blessings to a newly married couple.

Among the special invitees, Dr Adnan who was a physician of PML-N Supremo Mian Nawaz Sharif also included. Shehbaz Sharif joined the Walima with his family.

A special dessert of Mutton Korma (braise), Chicken Biryani (mixed rice and chicken dish), soup and ‘Gajar Ka Halwa’ (pudding of carrot and cheese) has been served to the guests in the Walima ceremony.
