New case of arson at PML-N office: Court summons key suspects

The Anti-Terrorism Court has ordered the police to bring four suspects from jail and present them in court for a new case of arson at the office of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz in Model Town on May 9.

The suspects are former Governor Umar Sarfraz Cheema, Dr. Yasmin Rashid, Sanam Javed and Ali Hassan Abbas.

They are already facing charges of sedition and inciting public disorder. The police had filed a request to summon the suspects from jail and seek their physical remand for further investigation.

However, the court could not hear the request due to the end of court time and the judge left the court. The police had to take the suspects back to jail and will produce them again on Monday.

The new case of arson has added more serious allegations against the suspects, who are accused of setting fire to the office of Muslim League Noon, a rival political party, in an act of violence and vandalism.
