Indian border fire ravages Pakistani villages, spreads across 8 km 

A devastating fire originating from the Indian border has crossed into Pakistan, spreading over 8 kilometres and wreaking havoc in the Umerkot district, reported the 24NewsHD TV channel on Tuesday.

The blaze has engulfed several villages, including Niplo, Somo Samma, and Khokhrapar, destroying mud houses and huts. 

The dry and cold weather, along with parched trees and shrubs, has exacerbated the intensity of the fire.

The fire reportedly began in three separate locations along the Indian border and has now reached the Umerkot tehsil, with fears of further spread.

Umerkot’s assistant commissioner has rushed to the affected areas along with firefighting teams to bring the situation under control.
