Pakistani martial artist Wajahat Yar Khan sets a new Guinness World Record
Karachi’s Khan breaks global push-up record: Wajahat completes 126 push-ups in one minute
Pakistan has added another name to the Guinness Book of World Records as Karachi-based martial artist Wajahat Yar Khan set a new global benchmark by completing 126 push-ups at a 180-degree angle in just one minute.
The feat surpassed the previous record held by Britain’s Alex Golding and was officially recognised by Guinness World Records. Speaking to City 21, Wajahat Yar Khan said the achievement was the result of ten months of intense and disciplined training.
He credited his success to relentless hard work and the unwavering support of his family, particularly his parents. Wajahat said he endured multiple injuries during training and while attempting the record, but remained determined to achieve his goal.
The martial artist said he was already preparing for another record attempt, expressing his desire to further raise Pakistan’s profile in international martial arts.
He also lamented the lack of government support for martial artists, saying greater encouragement could help athletes achieve even more global success.
Despite the challenges, Wajahat Yar Khan said he remained committed to representing Pakistan on the world stage and continuing his pursuit of excellence.
