ATC hands over Haleem Adil Sheikh to police on two-day physical remand
An anti-terrorism court (ATC) in Karachi on Wednesday sent Leader of the Opposition in Sindh Assembly Haleem Adil Sheikh and four others accused on a two-day physical remand and handed them over to the police, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The FIR includes terrorism, interference in government working, rioting, aerial firing and other offences, police officials said. The case was registered on government's complaint, the police officials added.
Speaking in the court, PTI leader Haleem Adil Sheikh alleged, “We were attacked, shot and arrested and now being prosecuted. PPP tried to assassinate me yesterday. I had already revealed about an attack on me.”
Haleem Sheikh alleged, “Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah tried to kill me. I could be killed like Murtaza Bhutto but I have faith in Allah and everyone knows who opened the fire.”
Earlier, in a tweet, Haleem Adil Sheikh said, “Stay strong PTI Workers! I am Imran Khan’s Sipahi, these fake arrests and cases can never stop me. I will keep exposing the corrupt mafia of Sindh that is PPP.”
Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani clarified that the speaker of the provincial assembly should only be informed earlier about the arrest of the MPA, when the session is in process. “PTI people should not tell us what the constitution is, as they including Prime Minister do not know anything about the law,” he further said.

He alleged, “That person (Haleem Adil Sheikh) misbehaved with polling staff, did aerial firing and roamed around with armed guards in the constituency on polling day and this was all telecast live on TV channels.”
He briefed the media about the violations Heleem Adil Sheikh committed including disrespecting Election Commission’s Code of Conduct and display of licensed guns.
Ghani claimed that even PTI leaders telephoned and sent messages to him and expressed their satisfaction about the arrest of Haleem Adil Sheikh as they considered him as a fasadi.
Saeed Ghani said that if Senate polling will be conducted as per the constitution — secret balloting — then PTI members will not give vote to their party candidates.
