PML-N leader shot dead in Hafizabad target-killing

A local leader belonging to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) was shot dead in Hafizabad on Friday night, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Saturday.

Umar Daraz Gondal, who was also a former union council chairman, was going to attend a wedding ceremony when unidentified gunmen sprayed his car with bullets. Two more people were seriously injured in the incident.

According to sources in police, the murder of the PML-N leader was appeared to be a target-killing as the preliminary investigation found that the gunmen carried out recce of Gondal’s vehicle before the attack.

As soon as Gondal’s vehicle moved to a deserted place the gunmen attacked it.

Police shifted the dead body to a mortuary and his two injured companions were rushed to Allied Hospital in Faisalabad with serious wounds.

The Hafizabad police were now conducting raids to arrest the culprits.
