Pakistan and Iran pledge to deepen agri cooperation:  Reza Amiri

Iranian ambassador to Pakistan Reza Amiri Moghadam has said that Iran and Pakistan have reaffirmed their commitment to deepen agricultural cooperation and expand bilateral trade in farm products, reported 24NewsHD TV Channel.

Taking to his account on X, Iranian ambassador wrote that today Iranian Minister of Agriculture, Gholamreza Nouri Ghezeljeh visited Pakistan to meet with Pakistani counterparts to push forward key agricultural agreements, including finalising Pakistani corn exports to Iran and facilitating increased imports of rice, meat and other farm goods. 

Reza Amiri Moghadam said that a Joint Committee on Agriculture Cooperation will continue to implement and monitor progress on shared goals, a major boost for food security and economic partnership. 

 Earlier, Iranian Minister of Agriculture Gholamreza Nouri Qazaljah met with Federal Minister Rana Tanveer Hussain and Federal Minister Jam Kamal Khan. 

Rana Tanveer termed Pak-Iran agricultural cooperation as an important pillar of bilateral relations. 

He said agriculture is the foundation of food security and rural economy in both countries as Institutional linkages and technical cooperation will be made more effective. 

Raza Noori Qazilja said that Pakistan's agricultural progress is commendable. He said the capabilities of both countries complement each other. “Cooperation will be expanded through better coordination and practical steps”, Jam Kamal Khan said, adding that bilateral ties will be strengthened through facilitation and coordination in procedures.
