Senior lawyer Noor Badshah shot dead in Mardan
Former president of Mardan Bar Association (MNA) Advocate Noor Badshah breathed his last, and three others critically wounded when unidentified assailants opened fire on them in Mardan on Tuesday, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The firing incident took place in the Toro Qayyumabad area of Mardan. The three injured persons were later identified as Mamoon, son of Noor Badshah, Sohail son of Afsar Ali, and Fawwad, son of Ikram.
Injured Mamoon is the son of lawyer Noor Badshah. Soon after receiving the report, the Rescue 1122 team rushed to the spot and shifted the dead and injured persons to the hospital for treatment and autopsy.
Earlier in January 2026, three proclaimed offenders were killed, and three others managed to escape during an alleged encounter with Mardan police.
The encounter took place during an operation against proclaimed offenders.
The deceased were wanted in several criminal cases, including the murders of Constable Azam Dad and Basit Ali, the police claimed.
Police said the suspects were killed in a firing by their own accomplices during the exchange.
Two Kalashnikov rifles and a pistol were recovered from the possession of the deceased.
The slain suspects were identified as Abrar, Yaqoob, and Raheemzada all of whom belonged to Swabi and Mardan districts.
