Covid hitting politicians as two KP, Sindh ministers down with virus

The coronavirus has started attacking politicians as the country is already in the grip of the fifth wave of a global pandemic, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Monday.
Reportedly, the recent target of the Covid-19 virus is Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Law Minister Fazal Shakoor whose corona test came out positive. Though the minister was fully vaccinated, yet he caught the virus.
Mr Shakoor has suspended all his activities and is self-isolating.
On the other hand, Sindh Irrigation Minister Jam Khan Shor after feeling coronavirus symptoms has isolated himself. However, he hasn’t run the Covid-19 test yet.
Moreover, PPP Hyderabad District President Saghir Qureshi was tested positive for coronavirus.
Hyderabad Deputy Commissioner Fawad Ghafar Somroo has also been diagnosed with the virus.
On Sunday, PPP Senator Sherry Rehman’s corona test also came out positive and she started her quarantine period at her home.
The daily coronavirus toll in Pakistan continues to rise as the country reported 4,340 new coronavirus cases along with 7 virus-related deaths during the last 24 hours (Sunday).
According to the statistics released by NCOC, after the addition of 7 new deaths, the toll has now surged to 29,019, which represents a ratio of 2.2 percent.
The positivity ratio of the coronavirus cases in Pakistan reaches 8.71 percent, as 4,340 new coronavirus cases emerged in the last 24 hours after conducting 49,809 tests. It takes the total cases tally to 1,328,487.
