An anti-terrorism court in Gujranwala on Tuesday sent three accused of Imran Khan attack case to jail on judicial remand while handed over the fourth one, a PML-N leader, to the JIT on physical remand, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
The Joint Investigation Team produced four accused namely Waqas, Mudassar Nazeer, Ahsan Nazeer and Tayyab Butt in the court which sent three of them on judicial remand.
The fourth accused, PML-N City Information Secretary Mudassar, was handed over to the JIT on nine-day physical remand.
Talking to the media outside the court, accused’s lawyer Mustansar Gondal claimed that Mudassar and Ahsan had nothing to do with the case.
He said Mudassar was included in the case on the due to Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi. “Mudassar is being punished for being Nawaz League worker,” the lawyer added.
He further said that when the prime accused, Naveed, had confessed to firing on Imran Khan then arrest of these four accused was meaningless.
He said Pervaiz did so just to please Imran Khan and their families were also not being allowed to meet them.
