Sindh bans display and possession of arms ahead of general elections

In view of the upcoming general elections 2024, the caretaker Chief Minister of Sindh, Maqbool Baqir, has imposed a ban on the display and possession of all kinds of weapons in the province for 45 days, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

The ban also applies to double cabin vehicles, which are often used by armed groups.

The decision was taken in an important meeting held at the Chief Minister House, where the security arrangements for the elections were discussed.

Baqir said that peace and harmony should be ensured in all respects during the polls and no untoward incident should take place. He added that the ban will not affect the law enforcement officials and the private security guards who are on duty.

He directed the authorities to take strict legal action against anyone who violates the ban.
