FMs of Pak-Afghan and Uzbekistan ink accord on Joint Feasibility Study for trilateral rail project

Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, along with the Foreign Ministers of Afghanistan and Uzbekistan, held a trilateral meeting in Kabul ahead of the signing of the Framework Agreement on the Joint Feasibility Study for Uzbek-Afghan-Pak Railway project. 

The meeting reaffirmed strong ties and a shared commitment to peace, connectivity, trade, and regional development. The three sides emphasized the importance of sustained cooperation to unlock the region's economic potential and ensure long-term prosperity for their peoples. 

In his social media account on X (Twitter), Ishaq Dar congratulated the people & governments of Pakistan, Afghanistan, and Uzbekistan on the signing of the Framework Agreement on the Joint Feasibility Study for the Naibabad–Kharlachi rail link under the Uzbek–Afghan–Pak  (UAP) Railway Corridor. 

DPM Dar also appreciated his Afghan and Uzbek counterpart for their support for the UAP corridor. The Uzbekistan-Afghanistan-Pakistan Railway Corridor is a major milestone in promoting regional connectivity and economic integration. It will connect Central Asian countries to Pakistani ports via Afghanistan. Today’s signing of the agreement is actually a result of the leadership and commitment of the previous PDM government.

DPM Dar further wrote in his post that when he, as the Finance Minister, was entrusted with the responsibility of working with brotherly countries on this project under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, laid the foundation of this revolutionary project together. He hoped that this project will become a source of development and connectivity for the entire region.
