The Islamabad Police has renamed its Dolphin Police Force as the Capital Patrols Unit as part of efforts to improve patrolling and emergency response services across the federal capital, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.

The newly established unit will be equipped with 40 new electric vehicles, which will help enhance mobility, city surveillance, and quick response capabilities.

As part of the restructuring process, 100 police personnel have been transferred and appointed to the new unit. The team includes officers from different ranks, including Sub-Inspectors, Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and Head Constables.

According to details, the new unit comprises 32 Sub-Inspectors, 36 Assistant Sub-Inspectors, and 32 Head Constables. These officials have been selected from various departments, including different police stations in Islamabad, the Security Division, Investigation Division, Traffic Police, and the Counter Terrorism Department (CTD).

Officials who were already serving in the Dolphin Police Force will also continue their duties as part of the newly formed Capital Patrols Unit.

Meanwhile, Assistant Superintendent of Police (ASP) Anila Waris has been appointed as the Chinese focal person for the new unit.

The Islamabad Police expects that the upgraded unit, along with modern electric vehicles and trained personnel, will further improve public safety measures and provide faster assistance to citizens.
