Naqvi meets Chinses delegation, discusses immigration and border management

Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi and Minister of State Talal Chaudhry met with a delegation led by Director General of China's National Immigration Administration, Qi Jingyang. 

During the meeting, both sides agreed to enhance cooperation in immigration, border management between the two countries. ‎

Both sides reached an accord to enhance the effectiveness of joint operations against illegal immigration, arms smuggling, and cross-border crime. 

It was decided both sides will expedite the immigration process. Both sides agreed to establish a joint Pakistan-China working group for border management and security. 

ON the occasion, Naqvi said that cooperation with China regarding land borders, seaports, and immigration management will be further enhanced as the Government of Pakistan was implementing a zero-tolerance policy against illegal immigration, unauthorized border crossings, and smuggling. 

Naqvi said a GB Scouts check post was being established at Khunjerab Pass to further enhance security. 

 “We will curb illegal immigration and border crimes through mutual cooperation”, said Talal Chaudhry. The Chinese delegation appreciated Pakistan's effective measures to prevent illegal border crossings and smuggling.

Director General Qi Jingyang said that China and Pakistan are strategic partners and both sides aim to further strengthen cooperation. 

China will continue to support capacity building for Pakistani institutions, said Director General Qi Jingyang. 

The Chinese delegation delivered an invitation to Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi—on behalf of the Chinese Minister of Public Security—to attend the Public Security Forum. Chinese Ambassador, Home Secretary, DG FIA, DG NCCIA, Chief Commissioner and IG Islamabad were also present on the occasion.
