Two women arrested while trying to kidnap baby from Lahore hospital
Two women were taken into custody after allegedly attempting to kidnap an 11-month-old baby from the Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) in Lahore, police said, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Friday.
According to police, the incident took place when a man identified as Shabbir had arrived at the hospital with his wife for a medical check-up.
During their visit, the suspect, identified as Tayyaba, along with her younger sister Jannat, allegedly kept observing the family and the infant before making their move.
Police said the suspects allegedly used a pretext to take the child and attempted to flee from the hospital. However, hospital staff and security personnel acted quickly, preventing the kidnapping attempt and alerting the police.
Shadman Police reached the scene and took the suspects into custody.
An FIR has been registered against the accused, and further investigation was underway, according to the Station House Officer (SHO) of Shadman Police Station.
Superintendent of Police (SP) Model Town urged the public to remain vigilant and immediately report any suspicious individuals or activities by calling the Police Helpline 15.
