Transferred judges cannot be said to be on deputation, says SC judge

Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar said on Tuesday that the Islamabad High Court (IHC) judges were senior and sagacious and those transferred could not be said to be on deputation, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.
During the hearing of petitions filed against the transfer of judges to the IHC, Hamid Khan, the lawyer for the bar councils, said that the federal cabinet could advise the transfer of judges.
Justice Mazhar remarked that the word ‘prime minister’ was also mentioned in Article 48 of the constitution.
A five-member constitutional bench, headed by Justice Muhammad Ali Mazhar, heard the petitions.
Later, the case’s hearing was adjourned until tomorrow.
