Putin's critic artist Semion Skripyatsky shot dead in Poland

An artist and outspoken critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin has reportedly been killed in a shooting incident in Poland, according to reports citing Polish authorities, 24NewsHD TV channel reported on Wednesday.

The victim, identified as Semion Skripyatsky, was allegedly shot by an unidentified assailant in a sudden attack. Polish prosecutors said he was hit by five bullets during the incident.

Officials confirmed that a gunshot wound to the head proved fatal. The attack has prompted a full-scale investigation into the circumstances surrounding the killing.

According to the prosecutor’s spokesperson, two Belarusian citizens have been detained on suspicion of involvement in the murder. Authorities have not yet disclosed further details about the motive behind the attack.

Russian media reported that the victim, also known as Robert Kuzovkov, was an artist, satirist, and performance performer known for his critical stance and creative work.

It has also been reported that Skripyatsky had travelled to Berlin just three days before the fatal incident, although it remains unclear whether the visit is connected to the case.

Polish law enforcement agencies are continuing their investigation as they work to establish the full facts surrounding the shooting.
