Zulqarnain Sikander responds to 'Post-Hajj' criticism over viral video
Popular Pakistani YouTuber and digital creator Zulqarnain Sikander has responded to online criticism questioning his behaviour after performing Hajj, making it clear that completing the sacred pilgrimage does not mean giving up happiness or laughter.
A viral video circulating on social media shows Zulqarnain addressing a comment he received from a follower who criticized him for laughing in one of his Instagram stories shortly after returning from Hajj.
Reacting to the remark, Zulqarnain said, “If I have performed Hajj, does that mean I should stop laughing? The comment was posted on a story where I was simply smiling and enjoying myself. Apparently, some people have a problem with that and are telling me to be ashamed because I have returned from Hajj. Does a person stop laughing after performing Hajj? That makes no sense.”
His response quickly gained attention online, with many social media users weighing in on the debate surrounding expectations placed on public figures after religious journeys.
Notably, Zulqarnain’s wife, fellow influencer Kanwal Aftab, had previously addressed similar comments, urging people not to judge others based on unrealistic standards and assumptions.
The couple performed Hajj 2026 together and frequently shared glimpses of their spiritual journey with followers. Since returning, they have continued creating content while also reflecting on their experience.
