Court issues notices over milk price in Karachi
The Sindh High Court (SHC) has issued notices to the Sindh Chief Secretary, Karachi Commissioner and other parties including milk-sellers on the increase in prices of milk in the port city, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Wednesday.
The SHC sought response from the provincial top bureaucrat and city administration while milk-sellers were also made party in the case.
A petition was filed in the SHC against the increase in milk prices. The petitioner pleaded that the official rate of milk was fixed at Rs94 per litre but the milk is being sold in Karachi markets at Rs140 per litre.
The petitioner maintained that milk sellers had decided to raise the milk price on their own.
