Office record and other equipment worth Rs3.5 million were completely gutted in a fire that erupted at a municipal committee’s (MC) office in Tandlianwala, reported 24NewsHD TV channel on Thursday. 

Computers, furniture and stationery items of the account branch, audit branch and the record room of the office were completely burnt. 

MC workers told the media that the fire erupted because of a short-circuit.   

Municipal committee employees assisted the firefighters in extinguishing the blaze. 

It took them 20 minutes to put out the fire while the cooling process took one more hour. 

A sanitary worker, an employee of the committee, was injured when part of a roof separated and fell on him while the flames were being doused.  

However, due to timely arrival of the fire brigade units, other goods worth millions of rupees were saved.
