Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi Thursday respectfully urged the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to take notice of the opposition’s confession to horse-trading, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

“Today, the opposition is openly confessing to horse-trading. I would respectfully request the Election Commission to take notice of this,” the foreign minister said in a statement.

Qureshi said that every elected representative was conscious of his voters and added: “No one can stop the elected representatives who have put their conscience on sale.”

Qureshi pointed out that every elected representative was honourable because he represented millions of people. He deplored that the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) was damaging democracy by becoming the champion of it.

“Neither does the opposition have one flag, nor does it have one ideology or agenda,” the foreign minister stated and added that the one-point agenda of the opposition was to only remove Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“Never before in history has so much damage been done to democracy as being done today,” Qureshi maintained.

He also stated that the Chaudhry Brothers were very elegant and they would take the right decision at the right time.

“It’s yet to be seen where the camel of no-trust will sit,” he said.

“Pakistan cannot afford uncertainty at present times. The prime minister is meeting everyone including the allies,” he added.

The foreign minister said that the Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) was an esteemed ally of the government, adding that the MQM-P had been fully supporting the government for the previous three and a half years. He also thanked the MQM-P.

“The PPP’s 15-year long bad treatment of the Karachi dwellers is not hidden from anyone. Bilawal is still a child and immature,” he said and claimed that March 15 had been set as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia due to efforts by Prime Minister Imran Khan.

“The United Nations (UN) adopted the resolution of Pakistan sent by the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC),” he claimed further.

“I am deeply grateful to Prime Minister Imran Khan for appreciating the efforts of our Permanent Representative to the UN Munir Akram and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs,” he expressed his gratitude.

“Congratulations to the entire nation on March 15 being set as the International Day to Combat Islamophobia,” he congratulated the nation.
