Funeral prayer of 7 Army Jawans including Lt Colonel Kashif offered

The funeral prayers of 5 martyred Army Jawans was offered at Bannu Cantonment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while the funeral prayer of Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Badar was held at Chaklala Cantt in Rawalpindi which was attended by President, Army Chief, Interior Minister and others, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

After the payer, the dead bodies were shifted to local areas where they were laid to rest with military honor.

According to ISPR, President Asif Zardari, Army Chief Syed Asim Muneer, Chairman Joint Chiefs of Staff Committee and Interior Minister Syed Mohsin Naqvi attended the funeral prayers.

Moreover, civil as well as military officials and relatives of the martyred families also attended the funeral ceremony.

On the occasion President Asif Zardari in a statement paid tribute to the martyred jawans and said that brave Pakistani youth never hesitate to sacrifice their lives for the safety and security of the country. Zardari said entire nation was standing behind Army against menace of terrorism. 7 Army jawans including Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Badar were martyred during terrorists’ attack on a security check post in Mir Ali area in North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa while security forces killed all of 6 terrorists in clearance operation on Saturday.

Meanwhile, Captain Muhammad Badar was laid to rest in Taman Village in Talagang district Chakwal. Mangla Garrison chief officer and political and local elders attended the burial ceremony.

According to ISPR hand out, a group of terrorists rammed a vehicle full of explosives into the check post and carried out suicide attacks resultantly security check post building collapsed. As a result, at least 5 army jawan were martyred. After the terrorists attacks, security clearance operation was started under the guidance of Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and all of 6 terrorists were killed by the security forces. However, during cross firing with terrorists, Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali and Captain Muhammad Badar embraced martyrdom. According to ISPR, 39-year old Lt Colonel Syed Kashif Ali was resident of Karachi while Captain Muhammad Badar belonged to Talagang area of Chakwal district. While the other martyred included Hawaldar Sabir from Khyber district, Naik Khursheed from Lakki Marwat, Sepoy Raja from Peshawar, and Sepoy Sajjad was resident of Abbottabad.

ISPR further said that Pakistan Army was committed to eradicate menace of terrorism from the country. While the sacrifices of jawan further strengthened the mission of Pakistan’s army against terrorists.
