Upholding objections raised by a registrar to the petition, seeking a declaration by a constitutional bench of the Supreme Court (SC) that specific jobs for members of the Christian community were discriminatory, the apex court on Monday threw out the petition, saying it was inadmissible for the hearing, reported 24NewsHD TV channel.

A five-member bench, headed by Justice Aminuddin Khan, heard the case.

Expressing displeasure over the petitioner’s female lawyer’s attitude, Justice Amin remarked that it was inappropriate. “Are you a SC lawyer?” he questioned.

The woman replied that no she was a high court lawyer.

“I have come across so many senior lawyers. But none raised his or her voice in front of me,” the judge remarked.

Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan told her that the people belonging to the community were also serving in higher posts.
